Tennis in the United States is played on three kinds of places: public park courts run by a city or county, member clubs and country clubs with their own pros and leagues, and commercial tennis centers that sell court time by the hour. Public courts are usually free and first come, first served, with a posted limit (often 60-90 minutes when others are waiting); busier cities run online reservation systems with a small fee and a permit for the season. Indoor courts are rented by the hour and booked days ahead in winter. Most facilities are hard courts; clay is common in the Southeast and at private clubs, and grass is rare. Lights extend play into the evening at many parks, sometimes with a coin or app-operated switch.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. Typical hours are 7 amโ8 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. New York is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around New York is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across New York's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Beautifully maintained clay courts with extra handheld hoses to fix courts that are too dry!

These clay courts are fantastic! We always make it a point to play here. The only downside is that finding availability can sometimes be challenging. But aside from that, itโs an excellent place to play.

Probably one of the more accessible places to find and play on (orange) clay courts outside of Europe. For $15 per hour, reservation required, you can get a taste for what itโs like to be Nadal. We (my brother and I) placed one in advance but got rained out; fortunately, we were able to talk to the superintendent and book a slot for another day at no extra cost! Be aware that there is definitely a long waitโthis is New Yorkโand the mornings are always the busiest. Also take notice of the general courtesies like sweeping the court after use or refining the service lines. Overall, great clay courts!

When its open, its a great parking option. You can only stay for up to 3 hours, but even that is very helpful. The walk along the river is stunning, no matter what the weather. They have a charging station for electric cars as well
